Falling Apart?

Don't really know what name to give this post...

There are a lot things going on in the company right now...
But I can't really go into details right now.

Whether it is good or bad, I can't really tell...
As of this time, I can only wait, and observe.

Different sides, different views and opinions...
Hopefully, everything will turn out fine for everyone.

Good luck to your future decisions...

PhilNITS SW: Passed!!!

Medyo late post na pero here goes...
I really never saw it coming...
But I was really excited when I heard the news... :)

Congratulations to me and my mentor sir Melvin,
for passing the PhilNITS SW Exam.

There were a total of 13 people who passed the
SW Exam. Which reminded that when I passed
the FE Exam, we were also 13.
Looks like 13 is my lucky number... :P

Special thanks to my mentor for his time
and for lending me his resources for our review.

Dumadami narin yung mga PhilNITS passers sa office,
Thanks to the facilitators, for unselfishly sharing their
time and knowledge.
Sana ma-ipagpatuloy pa yung practice... :)

Thanks din sa management, for giving some
"cash incentive" for the passers, it's not a big amount,
but it's better than not having any at all.

Hopefully, I can get some additional incentive for
passing the PhilNITS SW... He he he... >:)

Also, I just had my exam fee reimbursed,
so I have 3,000 to spare... He he he... >:)
I still have to treat my friends though... >:P

1 down... 2 more to go... :)

A Blast from the Past... Part 2: The Traveler

The perks of joining school competitions...
Exam exemptions, free periods, bonus grades,
cash prizes, medals, trophies, recognition,
pride and glory...
But above all these...

Is the opportunity to meet different people,
and visit new places.
Schools, towns, government offices, studios,
and even foreign countries.

Chiang Kai Shek College,
St. Stephen's High School,
Hope Christian High School,
Philippine Cultural High School,
Grace Christian High School,
Paco Catholic School,
De La Salle Greenhills,
Quezon City Science High School,
South Ridge School,
Adamson University,
Ateneo de Manila University,
University of the Philippines,
University of Santo Tomas

were just among the schools which I
remembered going to, when I was still in school.

It's just too bad that I didn't own
a camera back then...

I also had a few overseas trips, 2 to be exact...

The most special trip...
was the trip to Seoul, South Korea.
Where I had experienced a lot of first's.

My 1st airplane ride...

My 1st time on foreign soil...

My 1st time to see and feel real snow...

My 1st time to stay on a hotel...

My 1st International Competition, Taiwan being the 2nd...

My 1st time in an amusement park...

And I still have the Lotte World guide book with me...

My 1st bus ride...
My 1st boat ride...
My 1st kimchi...
My 1st Reebok napsack...
My 1st Log Jam type ride...

My 1st PC Software (Sinbad in the Lost Land)...

It was a indeed short stay but it sure created some good memories...
Someday, I might visit Korea again... :)

P.S.
While scanning my old photos...
I found a rather funny one...

The irony of all... :P

A Blast from the Past... Part 1: The Student

At last, I got a break from all the stressful events
these past few months had given me...

Hey, it's lent season...
A perfect time to step back a little, relax a little,
Reflect on the different aspects of my life...

I've decided not go out for a while.
Just stay home, and recharge my spirit.

For many, this is a perfect time for taking an
out-of-town vacation. As much as I wanted to
go on a nature-trip, I really don't think I would
enjoy it, specially in my current state of mind.

I don't think anybody would every understand...
But who cares... it's not a big deal anyway.

So what's keeping me busy these days...
Aside from cleaning up...

I've started scanning different memoriabilias,
things that I've collected and kept for while...
probably 10 years old or even older...

Things which, once had become part of my life,
things which people normally doesn't keep.

The following images would give you an idea
of my past, my life, my high school life...

------------------------------------------------

Yes, we went there for a field trip...
Without even aware that the place was
just a fund raising campaign of Fidel V. Ramos
for the next national elections...
For the record, he did stole tax payers' money.

Can you still remember the 1st movie that you've ever watched?
Well, I do... I still have the ticket with me...
Yes, I was in 2nd year... :P

What the do you know...
I was part of the Scouting movement.

And had went to Los Baños for camping...

Even received recognition for being an SPL...
I just hoped that I was really "outstanding" that time.
Sometimes, I wish I could go back...

As class president, I was in-charge of cleanliness
of the classroom. We were able to bag some awards
for being the cleanest room... :)

This, I could not remember.
When or why it was given to me, I could not know.
One thing is for sure... The message is timeless.

I became part of several inter-school competitions as well..
This one was from Ateneo de Manila University...

This one was from De La Salle University...

This one, from Chiang Kai Shek...

This one, from St. Stephen's High School...
Seems that I had a boring life in High School, huh?

Yes, as you might have figured out...
I never really had a social life that time...
But I still managed to receive a couple of holiday greeting cards...

Not bad huh?

My invitation for the Junior-Senior Prom...
Nothing memorable actually...
But I do remember leaving and going home early...
I never had a chance to dance with anyone as well...
Such a loser... :P

Then came Senior's Ball...
This time, I was able dance with my high school crush...
Nothing special actually happened, and that was the end of it...
Still a loser... :P

Finally, to close this blog entry...
An anonymous thank you message from a high school classmate...
Don't know when, don't know why, don't know who...

More posts to come...
How I wish I had a faster Internet connection at home... :|

The PhilNITS SW Experience...

April 1, Around 6AM...
Mobile phone alarms...

It was time...
And there's no turning back...
It was difficult to get up...

6 hours of sleep may never be enough,
for today's exams...
I even dreamed about the last problem,
I left unsolved last night...

It wasn't a good sleep,
But I have no other choice...
I did what I could...
For a month of preparation...
6 review sessions w/ my mentor...

I may be prepared,
But I don't think that I'm ready...

I felt that I was dragging myself to the exam site...
Probably because it's one of the few times,
that I am afraid to face failure...
Pride is at stake...

When I reached the exam site,
met with my mentor,
Had some last minute scans of the past exams,
And later found out that only 15 are taking SW...

15... pretty small group indeed...
12 of them from ADTX...
The other 3, Jeff, Sir Melvin and Me.

Those ADTX guys were really intimidating...
Not only because some of them had already passed
the mock exam a year ago...
Also because it seems that everyone is confident
of passing the exam...
Plus the mere fact that on the average,
they were able to finish the exam more than
30 minutes ahead of us...

My mentor had the same feeling as well...
Not so likely of him...
But it does show that we're still...
more "human" than "geek"... He he..."

The exam took 2 1/2 hours of my morning
and another 3 1/2 hours of my afternoon...
It was really exhausting and draining...
Not to mention the really hot temperature
while we were on the way home...

On the brighter side...
I can focus on my Nihongo classes now...

Exam results won't be out for another 30 days...
Until then, I won't be expecting anything... :)

I would like to thank my mentor for sharing
his time, resources and knowledge with me
during our review sessions.
I'm really grateful for his willingness to help
and share not only for the exam but for other
things as well...

Thank you sir. God Bless... :)
